My Mixed media Process
Heavily inspired by the process of Rovina Cai, my style combines the Physical aspects of Traditional art with the modern approach of digital art. Below I have shared the step-by-step process when I made the work Love isn't Dead:
1. After coming up with an idea, I draw a sketch
2. In either acrylic or ink wash, I traditionally paint the sketch, then scan the final work. The above piece is acrylic on canvas panel.
5. I add other light sources.
6. After values and light sources look good, I add a gradient map over the greyscale piece.
9. Final adjustments and color overlay added to create the final piece.
3. I begin to play with values and adding details that were too small to paint traditionally. In the above piece, I digitally "painted" the faces, and the harp strings.
4. I begin to carve out areas of light and dark.
7. Colors are changed to better fit the vibe of the piece.
8. Last minute addition of other details.
