As you can see from the disclaimer above, I feel very strongly about the use of A.I. That is to say, I feel strongly that A.I. should NEVER be used in the creative field, and I go as far as to argue, it shouldn’t be used at all.
I am an artist, one who has worked every day to hone my skills, grow, and produce work that I am proud of. Since I was a child, art has provided me a space to take a breath, and cope with the world around me... It helps me connect with my humanity and my soul… I took a massive risk being the first person in my family to go to college and I chose to go to art school. For me, there was no other path that I could see myself going forward with. And I knew it was the right choice because imagining, creating, and doing, is what makes life so exciting. The ability to create is human; This why I'm firmly anti-A.I.:
Generative A.I. is stripping away our humanity.
Our passions, our ability to think, empathize, and connect, is being affected everyday. It’s affecting our minds, our communities, and even the very world we live in.
For me, our humanity is more important than the speediness and “effortlessness” of this technology. We as a species have only survived this long, and done such incredible things, because of our minds and our ability to adapt. Why are we throwing it away for the sake of computer?
I hope that, one day, society realizes the art that REAL human beings create is better than lines of code made by a computer masquerading as a human mind.
Art is HUMAN.
And if we don't have our humanity, what do we have?
